Elizabeth A. Straw, 75, of West Decatur died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at her residence.

Born July 19, 1938 in Gearhartville, RD Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Mac R. and Violet E. (Brown) Dickson.  She married James H. Straw on March 2, 1958 at the First Church of Christ in Philipsburg. He survives at home.

Mrs. Straw was a member of the First Church of Christ, RD Philipsburg, where she was a member of the Edith Shimmel Missionary Society and the quilt ministry.

She had been employed with a number of local businesses. Most recently she had been employed as a waitress for the former Arena Restaurant at the Harbor Inn Motel in Philipsburg until her retirement.  She was a 1957 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Allen Straw; a sister, Donna Harris; and two brothers, Mac R. Dickson Jr. and Gaylon E. Dickson.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Straw is survived by two sons, Larry J. Straw and his wife, Penny of RD Philipsburg and Robert D. Straw of West Decatur and a brother, Patrick D. Dickson and his wife, Mary Lou of West Decatur.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Danielle Curtorillo and her husband, Anthony and Kylee Kay Straw and her fiancé, Jon Kimple, all of Philipsburg and Daniel Trey Straw, Trevor Allen Straw and Travis Kephart Straw, all of West Decatur; three great-granddaughters, Liberty, Evelynn and Anabelle Curtorillo, all of Philipsburg; one daughter-in-law, Carla J. (Kephart) Straw of West Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of Christ, RD Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating.  Burial will be at the Stoneville Cemetery in RD West Decatur.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Tuesday at the First Church of Christ, 1437 Tyrone Pike, Philipsburg.
