Mary “Sally” (Peachman) McCoy, 85, of Coalport died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Marion Manor, Curwensville, where she was under the kindness and care of the angels who took care of her there. She had been treated with love and respect by the staff and volunteers since January.
She was born July 16, 1928, at Hegarty’s Crossroads, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Siford) Peachman She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, farming and playing Bingo. She operated the McCoy Produce Farm for more than 60 years.
On April 10, 1948, at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Hegarty’s Crossroads, she married Richard C. McCoy. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1989.
She’s survived by five children, Dennis McCoy (Bonnie) of Coalport, Janet L. McCoy of Clearfield, Deborah Beers (John) and Tim McCoy, both of Chesterfield Road, and Richard P. McCoy of Fort Washington, Md.; three grandchildren, Erin Leigh Clancy, Rachael (Cecil) McKinney and Adam Beers; and two great-grandchildren, Justan and Carragan McKinney.
She’s also survived by a brother, Howard Peachman of Smokerun and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Ralph Peachman and five sisters, Florence David, Evelyn McGirk, Martha Moore, Helen Gladis and Hazel Williams.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kruise Funeral Home, Ramey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey, with the Rev. Thomas A. McCoy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hegarty’s Crossroads Cemetery, Coalport.
