Elizabeth Irene O’Connor, 72, of Clearfield, quietly died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1941, she was the daughter of Sloane Henry and Ruth Dora (McMasters) Shugarts.
She was a homemaker and also employed at Kents Sportswear. She was a baker at the former Super Duper & Quaker Markets and had been employed as a janitor at the former Curwensville State Bank.
On Aug. 29, 1959 in Olanta, she wed Terrance L. O’Connor, who survives, along with five children, Chris J. O’Connor and Jamie Dixon and her husband, Duane, both of DuBois; Terrence O’Connor Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Olanta; Brett M. O’Connor and his wife, Kelly of Clearfield; and Lori A. Dotts and her husband, Bob of Hyde.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister, Ella Louise Holt and her husband, Ken of Clearfield and Ken Sloan Shugarts of Shreveport, La., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, BethAnne Welsh; two brothers, George Frank and John Duane Shugarts; and a sister, Erdie Leone Peoples.
At the request of Mrs. O’Connor, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Olanta.
