State police at Clearfield
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Monday in the area of Main and Mill streets in Coalport Borough. Brandt Beck, 22, of Irvona was traveling north on Main Street and crossed over into the oncoming lane of travel. At that point, his vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle operated by a 16-year-old Blandburg girl. Beck sustained a large laceration on his head. The girl and her passengers sustained multiple, small lacerations. All occupants were transported to UPMC Altoona for treatment.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Sunday on Miriam Street in Ramey Borough. The operator of a white pick-up truck and a vehicle operated by Amber Blake of Houtzdale were traveling west. As Blake was turning left onto Beulah Street, her vehicle was struck by the truck with its operator following too closely. The truck’s operator, state police said, fled the scene of the accident.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of harassment/criminal mischief occurred Saturday along Mud Run Road in Huston Township. During the incident, two Clearfield residents allegedly engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical in nature. Also, one resident allegedly damaged the other’s vehicle. Both residents will face the appropriate charges.
- An incident of burglary/criminal trespass occurred Thursday along Woodward Road in Huston Township. The victim contacted state police about an alleged intruder at her residence. Upon arrival at the scene, state police took a 42-year-old man into custody; he was lodged in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
- On June 9, a 34-year-old Saylorsburg man led state police on a pursuit, beginning at a rest area at mile-marker 88.5 on Interstate 80 in Washington Township and ending in a wooded area along state Route 1830 in Pine Creek Township. Upon responding to the scene, state police observed the man leaving the rest area and attempted a traffic stop at mile-marker 84 on I-80 westbound. The man failed to comply and a pursuit ensued onto I-80 eastbound. State police noted the man continued traveling at a very high rate of speed, and several traffic violations were captured on the patrol unit’s mobile video recorder. He eventually traveled into a power line right-of-way and a heavily wooded area. State police then terminated the pursuit and issued a be-on-the-look-out alert with the man’s vehicle information. The man was located and detained by the Forest County Sheriff’s Department along SR 36 north in Tionesta. State police at Marienville took the man into custody for suspected DUI. He was lodged in the Clarion County Jail on a probation detainer from Monroe County as a result of these incidents. State police noted the appropriate charges will be filed against the man through the district court. He will also face charges to be filed by the state police at Marienville.
State police at Philipsburg
- An accident occurred Thursday at the intersection of North Front and East Pine streets in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a vehicle was legally parked along the west side of Front Street and the operator of another vehicle drove by and struck its driver’s side mirror. The operator left the scene without providing any contact information.
- An incident of harassment occurred Saturday on East Spruce Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, two roommates allegedly argued over a can of snuff. At one point, the male roommate allegedly grabbed the snuff from his female roommate who received medical treatment for arm pain on Sunday. The female refused to have her male roommate arrested for the incident.
State police at Ridgway
- On Friday, Traves C. Singer, 32, of Kersey was taken into custody based upon an active warrant from the state of Ohio. He was arraigned through the district court on a fugitive from justice charge.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday on Commons Lane in Ridgway Township. During the incident, a 34-year-old Ridgway man allegedly slashed a tire belonging to the victim. Damage is estimated at $120. The man was cited through the district court.
- An incident of public drunkenness occurred Sunday behind the Jay Township Fire Hall. Further, a 26-year-old Carlisle man was allegedly visibly intoxicated and charged with the same.
- A DUI accident occurred Sunday on Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township. Further, a 23-year-old Ridgway man was operating a blue Jeep Wrangler and struck a tow truck. He then struck a vehicle that was being removed from the side of the roadway. Upon arrival state police found the man to be under the influence; DUI charges are pending blood test results.
- An accident occurred Saturday on Laurel Mill Road in Ridgway Township. Further, a 19-year-old Apollo man exited the roadway while traveling east and continued for approximately 450 feet before striking an embankment. His vehicle then overturned onto its roof and slid across the roadway. It came to a rest with the front end blocking the westbound lane.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a theft incident that allegedly occurred at a business along the Rockton Mountain Highway.
- Police assisted a motorist on West Front Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Turnpike Avenue.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation on Hill Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft and fraud.
- Police received a report about a civil issue involving personal property.
Curwensville Borough
- Police arrested a Curwensville man for DUI on Tuesday after a traffic stop on Ridge Avenue.
- Police have requested that people who utilize the recycling bins at the borough building to only place the proper items inside the containers. Also, police said items are not permitted to be placed outside the containers. If the containers are full, police said people are not to leave recycling items at the property. Any violators will be cited for scattering rubbish and required to reimburse for the removal of items left outside the containers.
