State police at Clearfield
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Sunday along Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 124 in Bradford Township. During the incident, a 23-year-old Atlantic City, NJ woman was allegedly parked on I-80 and wouldn’t leave when ordered to do so on several, different occasions. She then allegedly locked herself in her vehicle and refused to open her door, which was causing a hazardous condition due to her location. The woman was cited for disorderly conduct and placed in the Clearfield County Jail until she could have a mental health evaluation.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police have identified one alleged suspect in the “smash and grab” burglary that occurred Saturday at the Philipsburg Minit Mart on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. Video surveillance, state police said, showed Brandon S. Wilkinson, 18, of Hawk Run at the convenience store. He has been charged with burglary and related offenses and lodged in the Centre County Jail. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A motor vehicle theft occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday on Logan Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the victim’s 1998 Chevrolet Blazer from his backyard. It was crashed into a large oak tree in front of 288 Coaldale Rd. at approximately 2 a.m.; however, the crash wasn’t reported to state police until approximately 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Sunday on East Locust Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 45-year-old Philipsburg woman allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with a neighbor while in a residential neighborhood. She allegedly threw bricks and stones into a neighbor’s yard and used profane language in public in front of small children. The woman has been cited for two counts of disorderly conduct.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of simple assault occurred Saturday on Old Byrnedale Road in Jay Township. During the incident, a 44-year-old Byrnedale man and the victim allegedly engaged in a verbal argument, which turned physical when he grabbed her by the neck. The man was arraigned with his bail being set at $5,000 unsecured.
- On Friday, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Horton Township Fire Department investigated a fire on Shawmut Road, Brockport. The fire destroyed a two-story, single-family residence that belonged to Darren S. Kite, 37. Damage, state police said, was estimated at $250,000; the cause is undetermined at this time.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Friday and Sunday at the Arroyo Run canoe launch in Spring Creek Township. During the incident, someone allegedly struck the victim’s truck several times with a blunt object, causing damage.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a fight near the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. Upon arrival police made contact with the people who were involved in the alleged fight.
- Police received a theft complaint that allegedly occurred on Leavy Avenue.
- Police received a report about a child who was riding a bike in a reckless manner on Clearfield Street. Police located the child and spoke to him about bike safety.
- Police received a report about a domestic incident that allegedly occurred along Walnut Street. Upon arrival police found that nothing physical had occurred and there was an argument over a relationship.
- Police handled a trespassing incident reported by a Pennsylvania Avenue resident.
- Police handled an incident of harassment via communications.
- Police received a report about underage individuals who were consuming alcohol. The complaint was unfounded, police said.
- Police have initiated an investigation into a theft complaint. Further, a male put his bag down prior to entering a local store; upon coming out, it was gone. Police will obtain and review video surveillance for the area.
- Police handled a vehicle lockout along Leavy Avenue.
- Police handled a parking complaint in East End.
- Police received a report about a missing juvenile. The female returned shortly after, police said.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that allegedly occurred at a Water Street address.
- Police received a report about a barking dog in the area of Cemetery Road and East Pine Street. The report was unfounded, police said.
- Police received a report about a possible suspicious male in the area of School Avenue. The male was not located, police said.
- Police located a suspicious person along Park Avenue.
- Police handled a property dispute along East Fifth Street.
- Police arrested a male after a domestic dispute along Daisy Street. Further, a male and female allegedly became involved in an altercation during which the male grabbed the female by the neck, leaving bruises. The female was taken to Clearfield Penn Highlands for treatment.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute that allegedly occurred on Clearfield Street. Upon arrival police found that the domestic dispute was verbal and not physical in nature. The male agreed to leave for the night and to stay with a friend.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a minor accident on River Road. No injuries were reported; towing wasn’t required due to the accident.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business. The alarm was unfounded, police said.
- Police received a report about a 9-1-1 hang-up call. Upon investigation police found everything to be OK.
- Police assisted a motorist in the area of state Route 879 and I-80.
- Police received a report about a customer who left children unattended inside a business along SR 879. Upon arrival police found there had been confusion and the children had supervision.
- Police received a report about loitering and prowling at night. Further, one male was taken into custody and charges were filed as a result of the incident.
- Police received a report about a missing juvenile in the Hyde area.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard in the area of Rite Aid along the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
Curwensville Borough
- On Saturday, a Curwensville man was arrested for operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was placed in the CCJ.
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred Saturday at a Walnut Street residence.
- On Saturday, police received a report about an animal that wasn’t being properly cared for on Lippert Street. Upon arrival police found the animal in good health and referred the report to Animal Control.
DuBois City
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Friday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Hoover Avenue. Further, the operator of a Suzuki Vitara was rear-ended by the operator of a Chevrolet Equinox. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident; one vehicle was towed from the scene.
- A domestic disturbance occurred Friday in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. The disturbance allegedly occurred between a woman and her daughters; however, there weren’t any charges filed, police said.
- On Friday, police initiated an investigation into the alleged theft of a cellular phone from a vehicle while it was parked in the area of DuBois and North Main streets.
- On Friday, a 48-year-old DuBois woman was arrested for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness in the first block of North Jared Street. She was taken into custody after being warned by officers during a previous incident at the same location.
- On Friday, the operator of a dark-colored van struck a white Ford Taurus in the Sheetz parking lot and then fled the scene. The van was last seen traveling northbound on Liberty Boulevard; it had a blonde-haired female as a passenger.
- On Saturday, police received a report about an alarm at SAM Inc. on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- On Saturday, police received a report about a crowd of individuals being involved in an argument in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. No arrests were made as a result of the incident, police said.
- On Sunday, a 38-year-old DuBois man was arrested for domestic assault. He had allegedly struck his girlfriend with a coat hanger several times. He was taken into custody and placed in the CCJ.
