Norbert B. Snell, 81, of DuBois died Thursday, June 12, 2014. Born Sept. 13, 1932 in Falls Creek, he was the son of the late Wainwright R. and Lena M. (Boyer) Snell.
He was a corporal of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from the City of DuBois Public Works Department after 26 years of service.
Mr. Snell was an avid coin collector. He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.
He married Mary A. (Kolash) Snell. She survives.
He’s survived by four sons, David Snell and his wife, Mary Ann of Summerville, SC, Kevin Snell and his wife, Diane of Brockway, Thomas Snell and his wife, Paula of Reynoldsville and Douglas Snell and his wife, Liz Abegail of DuBois; a daughter, Rose Marie Freemer and her husband, Robert of Brockway; three brothers, Gary Snell of Falls Creek, Theodore Snell of Inverness, Fla., and Joseph Snell of Jacksonville, Fla; one sister, Maxine Slack of Sheffield; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Robert and James Snell and sisters, Marlene Quick, Carol Craft, Donna Hoover, Shirley Hazelton and Evelyn Cruddas.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Burial will be Morningside Cemetery.
