State police at Clearfield

• An incident of underage consumption occurred Saturday on Ferncliff Road in Pike Township. During the incident, a 20-year-old Olanta man was outside of his vehicle near the Curwensville Borough Police Department. After Curwensville police spoke with him, they determined he was under the influence of alcohol and contacted state police for jurisdictional reasons.  When speaking with state police at the scene, the man admitted to consuming alcohol. He was transported to his residence and released to his father. Charges will be filed through the district court as a result of the incident.
• An incident of DUI occurred Saturday on Fairview Lane at its intersection with Deer Creek Road. Further, a 27-year-old Altoona woman was stopped after state police received information that she’d been drinking throughout the prior night. When state police made contact with her, she was found to be under the influence. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• An incident of aggravated assault occurred Friday in a wooded area in Morris Township. While at a party, the victim was allegedly assaulted by approximately three people. The victim sustained multiple injuries, including a broken jaw and several small lacerations. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday along the Morrisdale – Allport Highway. During the incident, a 23-year-old Morrisdale man allegedly damaged numerous items belonging to the victim, which had a value of $700. The man was charged through the district court as a result of the incident.
• No injuries were reported after an accident that occurred Friday on the Clearfield – Woodland Highway in Bradford Township. Tyler M. Rothrock of Morrisdale was traveling eastbound and behind a vehicle operated by Howard Osewalt of Mineral Springs. Rothrock took his eyes of the roadway, causing him to rear-end the Osewalt vehicle. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Rothrock’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Rothrock was cited for the accident.

State police at DuBois

• An Act 64 violation/DUI occurred Friday on U.S. Route 322 in Winslow Township. During the incident, a 19-year-old Sykesville man was stopped for a traffic violation. State police detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle; a search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The man was processed for suspected DUI and transported to DuBois Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw. Charges are pending the results of a toxicology screening.
• An incident of theft, fraud and forgery occurred May 27 at the victim’s residence in Huston Township. The victim answered an online advertisement for free Siberian husky puppies. Upon request the victim sent money for a delivery service. Then, when contacted by the delivery service, the victim sent additional money for a crate rental, insurance, food and accommodations. The victim has since learned it was a fraudulent service and seller. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Thursday on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough. Jeffrey D. Mauk of Curwensville was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. He failed to negotiate a left-hand curve just east of Fourth Street. His vehicle traveled off the right berm and struck an arrow traffic sign. It then continued across Main Street Extension and into the front yards of two residences and a church. He returned to the roadway and fled the scene east on Main Street through Falls Creek Borough.  Mauk was later seen traveling south on Route 255 and north on Route 219 in DuBois City where he was stopped.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday on U.S. Route 322 in Winslow Township. Bertha M. Thames of Reynoldsville was traveling westbound when she swerved to miss a deer that was crossing the roadway. Her vehicle subsequently traveled down the right embankment, striking a tree nearly head-on. The Thames vehicle was towed from the scene.

State police at Philipsburg

• An incident of harassment occurred Friday on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 45-year-old Philipsburg woman allegedly directed threats of physical harm toward the victim. Charges were filed through the district court.
• An incident of theft occurred May 26 on Chestnut Grove Road in Union Township. Further, the victim reported missing medication to state police.
• An incident of simple assault and harassment occurred Saturday on Casanova Road approximately 1.5 miles from Munson. Further, a 23-year-old Morrisdale man and a 33-year-old Philipsburg woman arrived at a gravel parking area, where they engaged in a verbal argument with the victims. During the argument, the man allegedly punched the first victim. He also allegedly struck the second victim with a stick numerous items times, causing minor injuries. The woman allegedly shoved the first victim. Both the man and woman fled the scene and were later located at a Morrisdale residence. The man was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment.
• An incident of underage drinking occurred Saturday on Dike Road near Cold Stream in Rush Township. Further, a juvenile was sleeping on the stream bank when he was found by a fisherman. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile had been drinking; state police filed a citation with the district court.
• An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Monday in the Philipsburg Towers parking lot in Philipsburg Borough. Further, state police received a report about a 28-year-old West Decatur man who was entering unlocked vehicles. Upon arrival state police located the man and found physical evidence on him. He had allegedly stolen a small amount of money from inside several vehicles. He was charged for the incident and transported to the Centre County Booking Center to await arraignment.
• Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Sunday on U.S. Route 322 just east of its intersection with Moshannon Street in Rush Township. Irella J. Quick of Wallaceton and William R. Wilcox of Freemansburg were traveling eastbound in the center, left-hand turn lane. Quick took her eyes off the roadway and failed to notice Wilcox slowing for the traffic light ahead. Quick subsequently rear-ended the Wilcox vehicle. Quick’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The Wilcox vehicle sustained minor rear-end damage and was driven from the scene. Wilcox was transported to the Clearfield Hospital with minor injuries. State police were assisted at the scene by the Hope Fire Department.

State police at Ridgway

• An incident of DUI occurred Saturday on Route 255 in Fox Township. During the incident, a 31-year-old Kersey man was pulled over for numerous traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are currently pending at this time.
• An incident of criminal trespass occurred Friday along Boggy Run Road in Horton Township. During the incident, two Brockport men allegedly entered the victim’s property after being previously advised not to. Both were charged with criminal trespass through the district court.
• Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Jay Township. Emory E. Repine of Weedville was stopped at the intersection with Caledonia Road. He proceeded into the path of a vehicle operated by Derek S. Bobik of Kersey, which struck his vehicle. After impact the Repine vehicle spun counterclockwise and traveled approximately 9 feet. The Bobik vehicle traveled approximately 15 feet in a northeast direction to the east berm. Repine was cited for the accident.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident on the Old Kersey Road in Fox Township. Ryan E. Sapielak of Kersey was traveling north and attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. However, due to excessive speed, he lost control of his vehicle, and it started to rotate in a clockwise direction. His vehicle exited the west berm of the roadway and struck a traffic sign. Then, his vehicle struck a ditch with its rear and overturned before coming to a rest on its wheels along the west berm. Sapielak was cited for the accident.

Clearfield Borough

• Police received a burning complaint in East End on Saturday evening.
• Police received a parking complaint that involved a vehicle blocking an alleyway.  The vehicle was found to be legally parked in a driveway.
• Police checked the welfare of a female along Capricorn Drive. She was transported to a residence along South Second Street.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a local bank.  The alarm was found to be false, police said.
• Police received a cellular phone after it was located in the Clearfield Driving Park.  The owner was located and responded to the station for the phone.
• Police received a report about suspicious activity on School Avenue.
• Lawrence Township police were assisted with a runaway juvenile.
• Police unlocked a vehicle for the owner along McBride Street.
• Police received a report about the theft of a cellular phone.  The phone was later located by the owner, police said.
• Police received a report about a sink hole along Hannah Street.
• Police received a report about suspicious people in South Park. Upon arrival police located the individuals who were selling items and advised them to cease until proper permits were obtained.
• Police arrested a male for suspected DUI after he was stopped along West Front Street for a traffic violation.
• Police arrested a male for DUI after he was stopped along Nichols Street for a traffic violation.
• Police received a report about a verbal domestic situation on North Fifth Street.  The parties were separated for the evening, police said.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident with injuries on South Second Street.
• Police received a report about a bad check.
• Police received a report about a traffic violation that occurred on the Clearfield Bypass. Further, police advised motorists aren’t yielding when they merge onto Route 879 from the U.S. Route 322 on-ramp toward Wolf Run.
• Police received a report about a wallet that was located on the Clearfield Bypass. The owner was contacted, police said.
• Police received a report about a disturbance between two students at the Clearfield Middle School.
• Police received a report about a suspicious person at the Clearfield Mall.
• Police received a report about a large fight on Weaver Street Extension. Upon arrival police found the people involved had left the scene. Police made contact with the victim who didn’t want to press charges.
• Police received a report about a traffic violation along Route 879 near Sheetz. Upon arrival police checked the area but couldn’t locate the vehicle.
• Police received a report about suspicious activity at a business along U.S. Route 322. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police assisted emergency personal with a fall victim at a Hyde residence.
• Police received a report about loud music at an apartment building. Upon arrival police asked the occupants to turn down their music.
• Police assisted a motorist at America’s Motorsport Park.
• Police received a report about an animal in a vehicle at Lowe’s. Upon arrival police found the animal was appropriately cared for.
• Police received a report about a missing person who was later located.
• Police received a report about a retail theft incident at Peebles. The suspect is known to police, and the incident remains under investigation.
• Police received a report about a possible drunken motorist in the Hyde area. However, police were unable to locate the vehicle.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on River Road. Upon arrival police made contact with the vehicle’s occupants and asked them to leave the property.
• Police received a report about a possible DUI on U.S. Route 322.
• Police received a report about a structure fire on Good Street. The fire, police said, occurred within a garage.
• Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a domestic dispute.
• Police received a report about a disabled vehicle.
• Police recovered an identification card.
• Police received a report about an assault incident involving children at the Lawrence Park Village. The incident remains under investigation.
• Police received a report about the theft of a propane tank. The incident remains under investigation.

DuBois City

• Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday on Grove Place. Further, the operator of a Buick struck a Pontiac; the victim observed the accident and reported it was caused by her neighbor. Police found damage to the suspect vehicle that was consistent with the damage caused to the victim’s vehicle. The victim wanted to obtain insurance information; however, she didn’t want her neighbor to be charged.
• On Friday, a 17-year-old boy failed to return to the Pentz Run Youth Center after school. The boy, police said, obtained transportation to the Brookville area. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and dark-colored skinny jeans. Anyone with information about the boy’s whereabouts is asked to contact DuBois City police.
• Police received a report about a domestic disturbance that occurred Saturday in the 300 block of Pifer Street. The victim told police that her boyfriend struck her in the face. She wasn’t injured and her boyfriend fled on foot prior to police arrival. He was under house arrest as part of his parole release, police said. The male was cited for harassment, and police notified his parole officer of the incident.
• On Saturday, a 22-year-old DuBois man was arrested for public drunkenness after he was found highly intoxicated in the lobby of the Gateway Towers. He was released to his girlfriend.
• On Saturday, a 29-year-old DuBois man was found to be under the influence of prescription medications in the area of Giant Eagle. When police checked his information, they found he was on probation and had a warrant out for his arrest. Police took him into custody and placed him in the Clearfield County Jail. He will be cited for public drunkenness and similar misconduct.
• Police received a report about a hold-up alarm Saturday at the First Commonwealth Bank on North Main Street. Further, police found an employee accidentally activated the alarm.
• Police received reports about two, different domestic disputes Saturday at a residence in the 500 block of Maple Avenue. On both occasions, a DuBois man told police his wife was harassing his 8-year-old son who wasn’t her child. Police handled the incident at the scene.
• Police received a report about a domestic dispute that occurred Saturday in the 400 block of Hubert Street. Further, a 15-year-old girl allegedly damaged a door in her residence and was throwing things around. She left the residence before police arrival. The girl’s father was OK with her leaving and advised he’d call if there were any further issues.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an intoxicated male who was banging on doors in an apartment building in the first block of Olive Avenue. Further, police located a 47-year-old DuBois man who had allegedly been drinking beer and smoking marijuana all night. He was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• Police received a report about an alarm Sunday at the First Commonwealth Bank located on North Main Street. Upon arrival police found an employee accidentally activated the alarm.
• Police received a report about a fight in the Giant Eagle parking lot on Sunday. Further, individuals who were on a bus trip engaged in a fight while exiting the bus. Everyone was leaving upon police arrival; no one wanted to press charges.
