CMN Raises Record $2.7M

DANVILLE – Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger wrapped up its annual Celebration Weekend on Sunday, raising $2,781,829 for Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital pediatric services.

The total was announced at the close of the annual celebration broadcast, which serves as the culmination of year-round fundraising efforts.

The Wilkes-Barre broadcast, airing on WYOU, collected $1,772,379 from corporate sponsors, community and employee groups and phone-in pledges. The Johnstown-Altoona broadcast on WTAJ netted a total of $822,350, while the Binghamton, N.Y., broadcast on WBNG tallied $187,100.

Donations stay in the region to help sick and injured children through programs, services and medical equipment.

“The amount of support we continue to receive year after year from our communities and our generous sponsors is phenomenal,” said Michael Ryan, D.O., chairman of Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger.

“We added several new events to Celebration Weekend throughout the region in hopes of drawing more people to celebrate with us. We thank everyone for their continued support and efforts.”

The 31-year total collected by Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger reached a grand total of $53,700,616.
