State police at Clearfield
- No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday on the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway in Bradford Township. Abigail R. Welker of Woodland was stopped on Green Road. At the same time, Casey K. Davis of Philipsburg was traveling westbound on the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway. Welker pulled out to travel eastbound on the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway and struck the Davis vehicle. Both vehicles spun 180 degrees, coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway. Welker was cited for the accident.
State police at DuBois
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Wednesday on Interstate 80 eastbound in Sandy Township. Heather Boyle of Falls Creek was traveling in the left-hand lane near mile-marker 101.5 when she lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway. Her vehicle subsequently crossed into the right-hand lane and shoulder before striking the guiderail. Boyle’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to its right front wheel assembly; her vehicle was towed from the scene. Boyle was cited for the accident.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred Wednesday on East Cherry Street in Port Matilda Borough. During the incident, a 46-year-old woman was allegedly found inside a residence owned by the victim. The woman didn’t have permission to be inside the residence. No property was taken or damaged, state police said. Charges were filed against the woman as a result of the incident.
- On Thursday, there was property found along U.S. Route 322 near Sheetz in Philipsburg. The owner has been located and the property will be returned to them.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Thursday at the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. Further, seven known juveniles were allegedly on school property after hours. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of theft occurred May 25 on East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone took the victim’s cellular phone. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Ridgway
- An accident occurred Thursday on Boot Jack Road in Ridgway Township. Kurt D. Thomas of Ridgway was traveling northbound, and a Jeep was parked along the right side of the roadway. The Thomas vehicle struck the Jeep, disabling it. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
- An incident of burglary/theft occurred Thursday at the Ridgway Record on Laurel Mill Road in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone pried open the door and removed a Mini-Mac laptop and two MacPro desktop computers. - An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Thursday or Friday at Cristini’s Auto Wrecking in Horton Township. During the incident, someone moved a 2005 red Dodge Neon approximately 100 yards through the lot. No damage was reported, state police said. Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a retail theft at a local business. While investigating, another retail theft was reported at a different business. Police determined that the same female was the suspect in both alleged retail theft incidents. Charges are being filed against a 27-year-old Clearfield woman as a result of the incidents.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity at an abandoned house on East Pine Street. The complaint was unfounded, police said.
- Police investigated a minor two-vehicle accident that occurred on South Second Street.
- Police assisted a disabled motorist at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library.
- Charges were filed against a 57-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both of Clearfield, for disorderly conduct. The two allegedly engaged in a verbal dispute over parking on South Fifth Street.
- Police arrested a 33-year-old Clearfield man on a bench warrant from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department. The man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation. The man was also found to be wanted by Jefferson County Probation.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a disturbance on Park Avenue Extension. However, the individuals involved were gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business. Further, police found an employee accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about a hold-up alarm at a local bank. Further, police found an employee accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about the theft of medication. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a phone scam. Further, a caller pretended to be the grandson of a township resident.
- Police received a report about a disturbance on 21st Street. Further, police made contact with the individuals involved with the incident.
- Police received a report about an incident of identity theft. Further, a known suspect allegedly used the victim’s information to open an account with an electric company.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about a bright light in the area of River and Bowman’s Hill roads. Upon arrival police checked the area and determined it had originated from the airport.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident Wednesday at 100 Hospital Ave. The victim told police that her Jeep had been damaged by another vehicle while in the hospital parking lot. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications that occurred Wednesday in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. The victim told police they’ve received multiple prank calls that sound like a male and female having sex. Police have suspects and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about a vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred Wednesday at the intersection of East Park Avenue and North Stockdale Street. Upon arrival police found the operator of a pick-up truck had attempted a left-hand turn onto East Park Avenue. At the same time, a woman attempted to cross the roadway with her baby in a stroller. When the truck’s operator observed them, he slammed on his brakes but still lightly struck the baby stroller. The baby sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
- On Wednesday, police responded to Alberts Court after someone threw a rock through the front window of a vacant residence, causing it to shatter. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
