Lloyd C. Hampton, 93, formerly of Kylertown, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Day Spring Personal Care Home, Morrisdale.
Born March 23, 1921 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late Clark and Esther Anderson Hampton. He was a member of the Lanse Evangelical Free Church.
Mr. Hampton was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 66.
He married Dora May Powell Hampton on May 4, 1946. She preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2014.
He is survived by one daughter, Catherine J. Rockey and her husband, Gary of Manchester and two sons, Edward C. Hampton of Ebensburg and Thomas R. Hampton and his wife, Pamela of Morrisdale. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Hampton of State College and Donald Hampton of Elizabethtown.
Mr. Hampton is survived by five grandchildren, Crystal Redding and her husband, Steve; Kimberlee Shearer and her husband, Scott; Kelly Williamson and her husband, Davey; Abby Danko and her husband, Dane; and Nicole Hampton and her companion, Justin Croasmun. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Kiersten Hampton, Brayden Williamson, MacKenzie Redding, Madison Redding, Austin Silver, Xavier Fackler, Kaitlyn Shearer, Brendan Shearer, Conner Danko and Addyson Danko.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James Hampton; three sisters, Wava Winters, Lena Hummel and Dorothy Greek; and three brothers, Frank, Vaughn and Ernest.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lanse Evangelical Free Church with the Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Kylertown.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the church.
Military honors will be accorded by members of the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard at the church.
