Week-long Bridge Work Set for Early June in Osceola Mills

Detour will be in place

PHILIPSBURG – Work to replace a bridge deck in Centre County will require a closure on state Route 3027 (Spike Island Road) June 2-6.

The bridge is located in Rush Township, about a mile south of Osceola Mills. It will be closed around the clock for five days and a detour will be place.

PennDOT‘s official detour will direct drivers to use Routes 3027, 3049 (State Street/Edendale Road) in Centre County, 2051 (Curtin Street/Elizabeth Street), Route 53 in Clearfield County and Route 3036 (Phoenix Road) in Centre County.

The work to remove and replace the bridge deck will be performed by PennDOT Centre County Maintenance and will take place after the Osceola Mills Truss bridge re-opens.

All work is weather dependent. The ten-foot bridge spans a branch of Trout Run and carries an average of 116 vehicles a day.

Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, follow detour signs, and as always, buckle up.
