Katherine A. Maines, 82, of Ashton Place, Clifton Springs, NY died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.
She was born Feb. 25, 1931 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late James Bowman and Norma Graham.
Mrs. Maines was a registered nurse from 1960 until her retirement. She had most recently worked for the Visiting Nurse Service in Rochester, NY. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading. But most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.
She is survived by her children, Susan Knowlden and her husband, David of Scandia, Daniel Maines and his wife, Karin of Clifton Springs, NY, Rebecca Camp and her husband, Richard of Marion, NY and her grandchildren, Jake Knowlden, Mathew Everdyke, Andrew Camp and Ashley Camp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Maines; her grandchildren, Karissa and Jeremy Knowlden; and two brothers, John and Chris Graham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Gillingham Church, Frenchville, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.
