Novey Recycling serving the area for more than 100 years

When it comes to recycling and repurposing materials, Novey Recycling of Clearfield is a company who embodies this mission throughout the entire business.

“We have been in the scrap metal business for 108 years, but many still are finding out about our history and other areas in the business focused on recycling and reuse of materials”, said Mike Boal, Operations Director of Novey Recycling.  “Within the last few years we started to recycle cardboard and paper as well.”

People can bring many types of metals and recyclable materials to Novey such as steel, tin, cast iron, appliances, junk cars and trucks, brass, aluminum cans, metal doors, siding or window frames, stainless steel and even auto or industrial batteries.    Their customer service is bar none the best you will find in this industry.  “All someone has to do is give us a call for the best pricing and quotes, questions about a material we can accept or another service we offer such as rolloff containers or our U-PULL-IT.  We love talking to our many types of customers and appreciate the loyalty shown throughout the generations of customers and their families who do business with us.”

Besides services for rolloff containers, recycling and scrap metal receiving, over 1000 vehicles and parts are available for purchase in the U-PULL-IT salvage lot at Novey.  “We started the U-PULL-IT auto salvage, which is another unique form of recycling used auto parts,” said Boal.  Customers are not only from the local area, but come from all over the northeast from Ohio, New York state, Maryland, Pittsburgh, or even as far as New Hampshire.  They do not inventory all of the vehicles and parts, but there is no admission fee to the U-PULL-IT lot.  But because they don’t spend the time on inventory, Novey prides themselves on being able to pass on the cost savings to their customers through their motto “U Pull It, U Save Money”.

Many might recognize the Novey Recycling #92 race car that makes its way around town throughout the year.  “We recycled with all used auto parts from our auto salvage”, said Boal.  The only new material on the entire car is the paint and decals, and was a learning experience for local students. “More unique than the car itself is the fact that it was recycled by high school students from the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center, under supervision of auto body instructor Darrin Dale. The vinyl decals were provided by Action Graphics of Clearfield, and they also took time out of their schedule to show the students how to install them. That was something those students had never done before and became a great learning experience.”

Novey Recycling also volunteers and supports community organizations such as the cub scouts, Animal Welfare Council, local Fire Departments for their jaws of life training, the state police for K-9 training, and kids tours of the Novey facility and the recycling and repurposing programs as part of the business.

“ We take great pride in our customer service, top pricing, and state certified scales. The combination of these three items not only give the customer a friendly experience when they visit our facility, but a financially rewarding experience as well.
