Marvin L. Reams, 87, of Philipsburg died Friday, May 16, 2014 at his home.
Born March 11, 1927 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late George and Nora (Myers) Reams. He married Lola A. (Rodkey) Reams on Nov. 4, 1950 in Osceola Mills; she survives at home.
Mr. Reams was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Philipsburg. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 66 in Clearfield. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and retired from Al Hamilton Contracting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nora Scaife, Fay Malinich and Belmeda Longstreth and four brothers, Norman Wesley Reams, Clarence Reams, Milford Reams and George Reams.
Along with his wife, Mr. Reams is survived by two daughters, Charlene A. Rushnock and her companion, Doug Sunderland of Huntingdon and Michelle L. Irwin-Thibault and her husband, Donald Thibault of Virginia Beach, Va. and a son, Eldon R. Reams and his wife, Hope of Osceola Mills.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, Thomas Reams, Amanda Ulrich, Linde Collingwood, Heather Irwin, Greg Irwin and Garrett Irwin and their father, Rod Irwin; six great-grandchildren, Ava Reams, Jace Reams, R.J. Collingwood, Jeffrey Irwin, Kiley Irwin and Landon Irwin; and a sister, Thelma Malinich of Clearfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Scott Hartsock officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard at the cemetery.
