State police at Clearfield

• A two-vehicle accident occurred Friday on state Route 253 at its intersection with Beulah Street in Ramey Borough. Mary Osborne, 74, of Newark, Del., traveled through the intersection of Miriam Street toward Beulah Street after stopping at a posted sign. However, Osborne failed to clear the intersection before proceeding and entered into the path of a vehicle operated by Pansy Rhoades, 69, of Houtzdale. Both Osborne and Rhoades were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported; both vehicles were towed from the scene.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Thursday on Maple Road in Beccaria Township. During the incident, someone ran over several street signs and then fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime between May 1 and Friday on Don Street in Houtzdale Borough. Further, the victim applied for a loan through Cash Advance America by paying before receiving the loan. The victim contacted several employees through the company but didn’t receive a loan for her initial payments. State police noted that the suspect hasn’t been identified and this isn’t an established business.  Also, state police would like to remind the public to exercise caution when applying for personal loans online or over the phone. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• A two-vehicle accident occurred Saturday on U.S. Route 322 in Bradford Township. Ronald A. Kuhn, 65, of Clearfield was stopped to make a left-hand turn. At the same time, Judith M. McCombs, 61, of Grampian failed to observe the Kuhn vehicle and rear-ended it. Kuhn’s passenger, Donna Kuhn, 62, of Clearfield sustained moderate injuries. McCombs had minor injuries. All three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
• Minor injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday on the Shawville-Frenchville Highway in Girard Township. Lincoln C. Munshower, 19, of Woodland was traveling westbound when he lost control of his vehicle. He subsequently traveled onto the south berm, at which point he overcorrected, causing his vehicle to overturn onto its roof. His vehicle slid back across the roadway and came to a rest on the north shoulder. Munshower was cited for the accident.

State police at Philipsburg

• On Saturday, troopers received a report about dirt bikes on the roadway in the area of Seventh and Pine streets in Philipsburg Borough. Upon arrival the operators of two dirt bikes fled toward Presqueisle Street. State police stopped one dirt bike in the area of Sixth and Presqueisle streets with two juveniles. The operator will be charged with fleeing and eluding, recklessly endangering and numerous traffic violations. During the course of the investigation, the other juvenile who fled was identified and determined to have allegedly stolen a dirt bike from a North 11th Street address. He was located at a residence and charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding and numerous traffic violations. The juvenile was lodged at the Juvenile Detention Center.
• An incident of harassment occurred Sunday behind Subway. Further, a male allegedly tackled a known victim and struck him in the head. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• A runaway juvenile was reported Thursday in the 200 block of Buttonwood Street in Unionville Borough. The juvenile, state police said, was located inside her residence.

State police at Ridgway

• An incident of DUI occurred Saturday at the intersection of Gahr and Sheeley roads in Fox Township. During the incident, a known 49-year-old Kersey man was stopped for an equipment violation. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and charges are currently pending blood test results.
• On May 7, a 19-year-old Byrnedale man was allegedly found in possession of a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana. Charges were filed through the district court.

Clearfield Borough

• Police assisted with a reported structure fire on Tyler Avenue.  Upon arrival police found mulch on fire. The fire department extinguished the fire and investigated its origin and cause.
• Police received a parking complaint on Dorey Street.  Further, a neighbor complained about a vehicle parked in the same space for more than 48 hours. Police ticketed the owner of the vehicle.
• Police received a report about drug activity that occurred in the 100 block of South Second Street.
• Police received a report about a loose dog on Merrill Street.  The dog was located and transported to the Clearfield County SPCA.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle parked near the Expo II Building at the Clearfield Driving Park. Upon arrival police didn’t observe any illegal activity and cleared the scene.
• Police assisted a disabled motorist on East Market Street.
• Police received a report about a neighbor dispute on Daisy Street.  The dispute, police said, involved the neighbor’s dogs.
• Police have initiated an investigation into an incident of retail theft at a Clearfield business.  Further, a known male was observed removing items from the shelf and leaving the store without paying for them.
• Police investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred on East Locust Street.  Further, the operator of a red Nissan Versa struck a parked Chevrolet Malibu that was owned by a Dubois couple.  Two witnesses provided a partial registration number and a description of the operator.   On Saturday, the operator of the suspect vehicle, a 67-year-old Woodland man, reported a vehicle struck his own while he was traveling on East Locust Street and it failed to stop. The man will be cited for several traffic violations and a false report to police.
• Police received a report about a fire under the Nichols Street Bridge. Further, police believe the fire was started by juveniles.
• Police received a report about a disturbance at a residence on Spruce Street. Further, a female complained that her boyfriend damaged her apartment.  However, the female did not wish to pursue charges.
• Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred in the Sheetz parking lot.
• Morris-Cooper Regional police were assisted with a patient at Clearfield Penn Highlands.
• Police received a mental health call involving a female who was going to jump from a bridge.  Police located the female and transported her to the hospital.
• Police received parking complaints on South Fourth and Nichols streets.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle stopped at the intersection of East 12^th Street and Bigler Avenue.  The operator, police said, had fallen asleep at the wheel of his vehicle.
• Police received a report about a domestic dispute on East Sixth Street.  Further, a 20-year-old Glen Richey man engaged in an argument with his relatives. The man fled prior to police arrival and his relatives did not wish to pursue charges.
• Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief to vehicles parked on Elm Avenue and South Fourth Street.  Sometime during the night, someone dumped shaving cream on several vehicles parked along the street.
• Police received a report about someone entering the vending machine and stealing money at the J.G. Food Warehouse.
• Police received a report about a verbal domestic dispute on East Sixth Street.  Further, a dispute occurred between two couples who are going through a separation.  Police didn’t take any action as a result of the incident.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle along Ogden Avenue.
• Police investigated a minor vehicle accident in front of Mabel’s Pizza.  Police assisted the operators with exchanging information.
• Police received a report about a group of juveniles that was throwing eggs at people on South Third Street.   Police searched the area but did not locate the juveniles.
• Police stopped a vehicle along Elk Avenue for a traffic violation.  The operator, an 18-year-old Clearfield man, was arrested for DUI and found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
• Police responded to East Pine Street for a found weapon. Further, police found it was stolen during a recent theft on Daisy Street, which involved several guns being stolen from a vehicle.
• Police have initiated an investigation into an incident of criminal mischief that occurred at the skate park at the Clearfield Driving Park.  Further, numerous skate ramps were damaged with unknown types of oil substances that were poured on them.
• Police assisted a disabled motorist in the area of South Second Street and Leavy Avenue.
• Police received a report about an animal complaint along South Fifth Street.  Further, a cat bit a person inside a residence.  Police assisted in taking the cat into custody and turning it over to Clearfield Animal Control Officers.
• Police have initiated an investigation into an incident of theft of medication on East Locust Street.
• Police received a report about a possible overdose at an East Pine Street address.  The individual was transported to Clearfield Penn Highlands for an evaluation.
• Police responded to a Bigler Avenue address for a male who was having difficulty breathing, as well as other medical aliments.

Lawrence Township

• Police would like to warn residents about a phone scam. Further, a man is calling and saying he is a detective with the criminal investigation division in Washington, D.C. He also states that a member of the household has warrants for their arrest. Then, he demands money to resolve the warrant. The man identifies himself as Michael Jones and the phone number originates from Washington, D.C. However, police have warned that this is a scam. Police remind residents not to provide any personal or financial information and to utilize the phone trace feature at the front of their phone books.
• Police assisted a motorist at the Dutch Pantry.
• Police received a burning complaint in Hillsdale.
• Police received a parking complaint on Highview Road.
• Police received a noise complaint on Kauffman Road.
• Police received a report about a tree blocking Clark Street.
• Police receive a report about a civil dispute.
• Police received a report about a theft from a motor vehicle.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment.
• Police checked the welfare of someone at a local hotel.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred at the Lawrence Park Village Apartments.
• Police received a report about a domestic dispute at a residence in Glen Richey. Upon arrival police handled the incident at the scene.
• Police received a report about an Internet scam in which suspects used a Pennswoods Classified to contact the victim.  Then, the suspect provided more money than requested and wanted them to pay the difference.
• Police received a report about a trespassing incident.
• Police received a noise complaint that occurred on South Second Street. The individual agreed to keep their noise to a minimum.

Curwensville Borough

• Police received a report about a Curwensville High School student who was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
• Police received a report about a burning complaint.
• Police would like to remind residents that parking is prohibited between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on State and Filbert streets. PennDOT will be cleaning the streets every Wednesday morning. Vehicles parked on these streets will be issued citations and subjected to towing at the owner’s expense.

DuBois City

• On Friday, police received a report about someone breaking into a soda machine at a business in the 400 block of South Brady Street. The owner told police that sometime overnight someone broke into the soda machine and stole cash from it. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Friday, police received a report about a panic alarm at a business in the 800 block of Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found it was a false alarm and everything was OK.
• On Friday, police received a report about an intoxicated male in the 100 block of North Franklin Street. Upon arrival police found the male to be extremely intoxicated and on probation with a no alcohol clause. Police arrested the male for public drunkenness and transported him to the Clearfield County Jail.
• On Friday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief in the 300 block of Wood Street. Further, the victim told police that someone smashed their glass patio table. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Friday, police received a report about a male who was urinating in public in the 100 block of West Weber Avenue. Upon arrival police found the male to be extremely intoxicated; he was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• On Friday, police received a report about a theft incident at a business in the 100 block of West Park Avenue. The victim told police she had personal items stolen from her while she was at work. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• During the week of May 4-10, police investigated two traffic accidents and issued 35 citations and 14 written warnings.
