Clearfield Borough Highlights Aggressive Driving Wave 1 Enforcement Results

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough Police Department made 33 contacts and issued 26 citations during an Aggressive Driving Wave. The enforcement initiative began March 24 and ended May 4. Many of the citations issued as part of this special detail were for Aggressive Driving offenses.

Police joined more than 330 municipal police agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police to conduct targeted enforcement on roadways, which data shows have Aggressive Driving-related crashes.

The focus of this six-week enforcement wave was distracted driving, with special emphasis on speeding and work zone safety. Motorists exhibiting other unsafe driving behaviors, such as driving too fast for conditions, following too closely, careless driving, red light running and other aggressive driving actions were cited.

This aggressive driving enforcement was part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
