State police at Clearfield
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between April 28 and Tuesday on Troy Hill Road in Morris Township. During the incident, someone removed numerous Caterpillar and Detroit diesel engine parts, along with the hydraulic pumps from the victim’s property. The victim, state police said, has offered a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime Monday or Tuesday on the Morrisdale-Allport Highway in Morris Township. During the incident, someone forced open a door at the rear of a structure. Once inside they removed four radiators that are valued at $600. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Wednesday in Grampian Borough. During the incident, someone took the victim’s purse from her vehicle while it was parked near the Sholes store on Main Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred sometime Tuesday or Wednesday in Coalport Borough. During the incident, someone took the battery from the victim’s vehicle while it was parked near Railroad Street. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between May 1 and Monday in Karthaus Township. During the incident, someone removed approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel from several tanks on the property. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- A single-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday on U.S. Route 322 near the PennDOT shed in Rush Township. Clayton P. Hutton, 23, of Philipsburg was traveling westbound when he attempted to pass a slower-moving truck in a legal passing zone. However, he failed to have adequate clearance to complete the pass and lost control while attempting to re-enter the westbound travel lane. At that point, his vehicle started spinning in a counterclockwise direction and through the eastbound travel lane. His vehicle exited the south berm of U.S. Route 322; it sustained major damage due to its impact with several trees. Hutton was not injured as a result of the accident. State police were assisted with traffic control by the Philipsburg Fire Police.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between April 29 and May 1 on Spring Run Road in Jay Township. During the incident, someone removed the victim’s 2007 Carry On trailer from her yard. The trailer is valued at $2,000.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Plaza Drive. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a business alarm on South Second Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle on Libby Lane. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
- Police received a report about unsafe practices. Further, police were advised about a large piece of equipment running while unattended.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief at the Calvary Cemetery.
- Police received a report about an alleged drug violation in Edgewood. The incident was listed as unfounded.
- Police received a report about a neighbor dispute on Powell Avenue.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about a business alarm in the 300 block of Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found it was a false alarm.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of fraud from a West Weber Avenue resident. The victim told police that a male who claimed to be from UPS advised he’d won a Mercedes-Benz. Then, the male tried to obtain personal information from him, at which point he ended the call.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications that occurred in the 300 block of South Highland Street. The victim told police that her ex-boyfriend sent her harassing text messages. She, however, didn’t want to pursue charges against him.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an incident of fraud from an East Long Avenue resident. The victim told police that someone had stolen his social security number and claimed $34,000. Additionally, he told police that the IRS has indicated he owes $6,000 in unpaid taxes. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an incident of harassment in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. The victim told police that she was in the Laundromat when a Known male entered and started to harass her. The male, she said, followed her to her residence. The victim, however, didn’t want to pursue charges against the male. Police contacted the male who advised he would leave the victim alone.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an incident of theft from a North Brady Street resident. The victim told police that on two, separate occasions someone had stolen items that she had inside hanging by her mailbox. The items had a value of more than $70; the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- During the week of April 27 through May 3, police investigated seven traffic accidents and issued 52 traffic citations and seven written warnings.
