Work on Route 255 project near I-80 DuBois/101 Interchange Continues

DUBOIS – Work will continue this week on PennDOT’s Route 255 project near the Interstate 80/101 interchange.

Crews will be working to install signs along Route 255 northbound and on the new traffic signal arms over Route 255 and the I-80 ramps.

Drivers need to remain alert for flaggers in the roadway during the sign installation.

Traffic delays should be expected. Depending on work progress, the new signals are expected to be in flash mode this week.

Crews will also continue with bridge repairs on a bridge just north of the Treasure Lake entrance. Temporary barrier remains in place through the bridge work zone, which makes use of some of the northbound lane and southbound lane and shoulder.

Once all work is finished later this year, area drivers will enjoy more efficient travel and improved traffic flow through this area.

This project started in May of 2013. Overall work includes milling and paving, bridge deck repair, cleaning and upgrading of pipe culverts and inlets, water-line extension, and installation of new traffic signals at the I-80 ramps. All work is weather and schedule dependent. New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc. is the contractor on this $3.7 million project.
