CLEARFIELD – The Board of Elections will relocate Cooper Township’s second voting precinct, effective for the May 20 Primary Election, after Dawn Graham, director of elections, gained approval from the Clearfield County Commissioners at Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Cooper Township’s second precinct is currently located at the Forest Emmanuel United Methodist Church, located at 302 Winburne-Munson Rd., Morrisdale. It will relocate to the St. John Lutheran Church, located at 3471 Winburne-Munson Rd., Morrisdale.
“After careful consideration, we feel that this option meets all of the necessary requirements needed for a polling place,” said Graham. “It is handicapped accessible, there is plenty of parking and space and it is a nice facility.”
The Elections Office, Graham said, didn’t receive any objections or comments regarding the relocation of Cooper Township’s second voting precinct. Anyone with questions may submit them in writing to Graham at 212 E. Locust St., Suite 106, Clearfield, or via e-mail at elections@clearfieldco.org.
Also, the commissioners approved the lease agreements for voting precincts with the Clearfield County Fair & Park Board and the Goodwill Fire Company, DuBois.
In March, the Lawrence Township/Plympton/Pine Precinct was relocated from the Florian Banquet Hall to the Expo I Building at the Clearfield Driving Park. The DuBois City/Fifth Ward was relocated from the St. Joseph’s Church Hall to the Goodwill Fire Company.
