Man Waives Hearing in Drug Case

DUBOIS – A DuBois man accused of possessing heroin waived his right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court in Clearfield County.

Joseph Alan Olewinski, 48, 119 E. Washington Ave., DuBois, is charged with manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, make repairs/sell/etc. offensive weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail is $10,000 unsecured.

The charges stem from an incident in August of 2011 in DuBois. According to the affidavit of probable cause, a confidential informant advised police that Olewinski was selling heroin out of his apartment on East Washington Avenue. The informant said numerous stamp bags of heroin were seen in the apartment.

A search warrant was obtained and during the search police found more than $1,000 in cash, two plastic bags of marijuana, a blue container with marijuana,  21 blue wax packets of heroin, 12 blue wax packets containing heroin residue, a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue, brass knuckles and a digital scale.
