Bison Track Teams Compete at Bald Eagle Invitational

Lock Haven — On Saturday April 19, the boys and girls track teams from Clearfield Area High School travelled to the campus of Lock Haven University to compete in the 16th Annual Bald Eagle Invitational.

The girls finished in third place out of 22 teams with 61 points, while the boys finished in eighth place out of 17 teams represented.

The top performance for Clearfield on the day was the girls 4×800 relay team earning a second place finish.

There were high finishes among the individual performers for Clearfield as well.

Leading the girls was freshman Ally Lindstrom with bronze medals in the 300 hurdles and the triple jump. Jill Heichel managed a fourth place in the triple jump to finish right behind Lindstrom. Sara Lash continued her strong season in the throws with a third in the javelin.

On the boys side Grant Climie had the top finish with a third in the triple jump. Alec Freeman placed fifth in the 3200 meter run. And freshman Mason Royer placed in both hurdle events – seventh in the 110 and eighth in the 300.

Clearfield will return to dual action on Tuesday April 22 when they travel to Spring Mills for a Mountain League tri-meet against their hosts, Penns Valley, and Huntingdon.
