New Forest Tech Welcomed to Elk State Forest

EMPORIUM – The Elk State Forest HAS welcomed to its staff, Sam Johnson of Emporium.

He will be responsible for working to evaluate, map and treat invasive plants along with many other duties, such as assisting with timber management, fire management, recreational projects and more on the Elk State Forest.

Johnson attended Pennsylvania State University.  His work experience includes working at Sizerville State Park as a semi-skilled laborer, working for the Bucktail Watershed Association as an invasive plant control technician, and working for Sanders Environmental as a wind farm impact assessment crew leader.

He is looking forward to working in his hometown.
