No Injuries Reported after Snyder Twp. Accident

SNYDER TOWNSHIP – No injuries occurred after a single-vehicle accident Thursday on U.S. Route 219 west of Pine Acres Road in Snyder Township, reported the state police at DuBois.

Ashlee Okamoto of Brockport was traveling northbound and negotiating a slight right-hand turn. At that point, she became distracted while her cellular phone was ringing and then falling.

Her vehicle subsequently started drifting to the right and traveling across the northbound fog line. It struck a mailbox along Route 219 and then a cautionary right turn sign.

After that the Okamoto vehicle struck an embankment, causing it to become airborne. While in mid-air, it struck two residences along Route 219. Okamoto wasn’t wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Okamoto was cited for careless driving, driving on roadways laned for traffic and restraint systems. State police were assisted by Brockway Area Ambulance and the Brockway Volunteer Hose Co.
