Last year’s Spikes moving up to start 2014

15 players who finished the 2013 New York-Penn League season with the State College Spikes have opened the 2014 campaign on the active roster of one of the St. Louis Cardinals’ two full-season Class-A affiliates. Making the biggest jumps are 2013 NYPL batting champion Steven Ramos and Spikes single-season home run and RBI record holder David Washington, who each advanced two levels to Class-A Advanced Palm Beach in the Florida State League.
