CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Sarah Elizabeth Burke, 25, of Scotch Hollow Road, Osceola Mills. Burke is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on March 20.
On Aug. 28, 2013, Trooper Michael J. Moskel of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Burke. He charged Burke with driving under the influence of alcohol; careless driving; registration and certificate of title required; required financial responsibility; driving on roadways laned for traffic; 6driving vehicle at safe speed; and occupant protection.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 6, 2013, the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on state Route 53 near Powell Street in Morris Township. Upon arrival at the scene, Moskel observed a vehicle that had front end damage.
Moskel found that the vehicle damage was caused by it striking a stone wall and steel beams. Upon making contact with the driver, Moskel detected signs of impairment and requested that Burke perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Burke was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 23, 2013, at which time all charges were held for court. On March 20, Burke failed to appear at criminal call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Burke is described as a Caucasian woman who stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall. She has blue eyes and blonde hair.
