Paul F. Maines, 75, of Woodland died Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1938 in Kerr Addition, the son of Oswalt and Ruth (Buck) Maines.

Mr. Maines had worked for Richard Green Trucking and Hamilton Coal Co. He retired from Waroquier Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Maines was a member of the Shawville United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Susquehanna CB Club and a life member of the Goshen Township Sportsmen’s Club.

Mr. Maines was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and going to camp.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Evans) Maines, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1995; a son, Ronald L. Maines and his wife, Teresa; and a daughter, Robin Mowery and her husband, Edwin, all of Woodland.

He’s survived by two grandchildren, Michael S. Maines and his companion, Nadine Daurora and Jason P. Mowery and his wife, April; and three great-grandchildren, Carleigha and Tritan Maines and Jayden Mowery.

He’s also survived by a step-daughter, Jennifer L. Graham and her husband, Raymond of Clearfield; two step-grandchildren, Roger Buck and Samantha J. Hooker; two step-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Abbi Buck; three sisters, Rebecca Litz and her husband, Raymond of Kellytown, Dorothy Roseman of Eden, NY and Jeanette Harris of Jersey Shore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Maines was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Hazel M. (Lonjin) Maines; two sisters, Alice Redford and Betty Green; and three brothers, Walter, Ken and Wes Maines.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor Susan Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield American Legion Post No. 6 and the VFW Post No. 1785 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
