MILESBURG – Work will begin Monday on Route 150 and Route 144 near Milesburg, as crews work to set long-term signing and traffic control.
The work zone will begin at the I-80 eastbound, Milesburg/158 off-ramp and continue along Route 150 south and Route 144 north toward the village of Wingate. Drivers can expect long-term lane closures through this area for the duration of the project.
Once work completes in late August, area drivers will enjoy improved ride quality along this stretch of roadway. Work will include drainage updates, widening of existing shoulders, milling and repaving of the roadway, pavement markings, and guide rail replacements and updates. All work is weather dependent.
Depending on the work activity, flaggers may be in the roadway and drivers need to remain alert for them. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $2.5 million project.
PennDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, obey posted speed limits and proceed with caution through all work zones.
