Applicants Sought for Housing Rehab Program in DuBois City

DUBOIS – The city of DuBois has designated Central Pennsylvania Community Action to administer the Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program utilizing the HOME Program, as administered by the Department of Community & Economic Development.

The Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program is intended to seize the decline of housing stock in the city of DuBois caused by deterioration and aging. The program will enable eligible homeowners to receive home improvements and preservation methods that will enhance energy conservation and provide safe and affordable housing.

Applicants must own their home, live within the city of DuBois limits and meet income guidelines. Applicants will be required to show proof of income, home ownership, paid real estate taxes, homeowners insurance and flood insurance where applicable.

Eligible repairs may include roof, foundation, electrical, heating, plumbing, lead paint assessment, kitchen, bathroom, steps, windows, insulation and doors. Focus for the program is bringing the house up to area codes and homes with lead based paint, especially with children under age 5.
