Obituary Notice: Eleanor R. Frantz

Eleanor R. Frantz, 75, of Punxsutawney died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born Dec. 7, 1938 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late James Crowley and Dorothy M. (Keatley) Crowley Robertson.

She was a 1958 graduate of Brady Township High School, where she was active in county and district chorus.

On June 14, 1958, she married Harvey A. Frantz.  He preceded her in death on March 15, 2006.

She retired from the Central Supply Department at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Prior to that, she had worked at the DuBois Nursing Home, Christ the King Manor and the Maple Avenue Hospital.

She was a member of the Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ, where she was a prayer chain member and a Bible school teacher.  She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, past homeroom mother for Brady Township Elementary School and a member of the PTA.

She was a member of the Brady Township High School Class Reunion Committee.  She enjoyed traveling and taking car rides. She loved to plan and host yearly picnics and her annual Christmas Eve Open House.  She loved trips to the ocean and her pets.  She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and camping.

She’s survived by her son, Jeffrey S. Frantz and his wife, Brenda of New Holland and her daughter, Taresa “Tracy” M. Deasey and her husband, Randy of Punxsutawney; a sister, Kathleen Dunworth and her husband, Vernon of DuBois; two brothers, William Crowley and his wife, Bonnie of Elverson, and Kenneth Crowley and his wife, Debbie of Houtzdale; one step-brother, Robert Robertson and his wife, Laurie of Clearfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her step-brother, Charles Robertson and two infant brothers, James and Howard Crowley and an infant son, Michael Frantz.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Church with Pastor Barry Fillman and Pastor Kelly Schanely co-officiating.

Burial will be in Troutville Trinity Church of Christ Cemetery.
