State police at Philipsburg
- On Sunday, a 28-year-old Tyrone man was arrested during the course of a drug investigation on the Tyrone Pike in Taylor Township. State police found syringes, prescription medication and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed against the man through the district court.
- A 22-year-old Osceola Mills woman allegedly stole Percocet pills sometime between Feb. 18 and Feb. 21 from the 1700 block of State Street in Rush Township. The victim told state police that 39 of her Percocet pills went missing. After confronting the woman, the victim discovered she was in possession of one Percocet pill and one-half of another one. Charges were filed against the woman through the district court.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred March 1-2 in the first block of North Fifth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone threw an egg at the victim’s residence, which broke a glass window pane on a storm door. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday in the parking lot behind 300 N. Front St. in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone smashed the victim’s windshield in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Grice Road.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred at an area school sometime last week.
- Police received a report about a telephone scam.
- Police received a report about a trespassing incident on private property in the area of Baney Road.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard on U.S. Route 322.
- Police received a report about two, different theft incidents at JC Penney.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle on state Route 879 near the off-ramp of U.S. Route 322 east.
- Police received a report about two, different internal theft incidents at JC Penney. Charges are pending against both suspects.
- Police were requested to assist with a domestic animal call. However, police referred the incident to the dog law officer.
- Police received a report about a civil issue of personal property.
- Police received a report about lost, mislaid or stolen medication.
- Police received a report about an accident on Riverview Road. Further, the operator of a vehicle exited the roadway and struck the guiderail. They re-entered the roadway, crossed both lanes of traffic and struck a parked vehicle in a driveway, which was pushed into another parked vehicle. The operator of the vehicle then fled the scene on foot; however, police located them a short distance away.
- Police received a report about shots fired in the Hyde area. Further, police observed flashes in the sky that originated from the Carbon Mine Road area. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the source.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief on East Scribner Avenue. Further, the victim told police that suspect(s) spray-painted several green and upside down crosses on the wall of the building. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of harassment in the 400 block of Daly Street. The victim told police that a co-worker and former friend has been harassing him. The victim had also learned that the suspect has been in a vehicle outside of their residence on multiple occasions. However, the victim didn’t wish to pursue charges at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief at a business in the 100 block of North Brady Street. The manager advised police that someone wrote on the bathroom doors in the men’s bathroom with a green permanent marker. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, police were directed to contact the school police officer at the DuBois Area Middle School. The SPO advised officers that an assault occurred earlier in the day, and they called due to the Safe School Act. Police advised the SPO to pursue a private complaint if they wanted to file charges.
- During the week of March 2-8, police investigated eight traffic accidents and issued 42 traffic citations and 13 written traffic warnings.
