CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action (CPCA) recently received a donation from the Clearfield Woman’s Club. The Clearfield Woman’s Club donated $500 to the Clearfield Food Pantry and $100 to the Carnation Instant Breakfast Program.

Members of the Clearfield Woman’s Club, which was established in 1913, have supported their community. This donation will be used to supplement the local food pantries that are facing large shortages and to be used to purchase items that will be given to area recipients.

As well, it will help the CPCA Carnation Instant Breakfast Program that distributes the powdered form of Carnation Instant Breakfast to help seniors and others with nutritional deficiencies due to health issues.

The CPCA has operated 10 food pantries, located in Clearfield County, for more than 30 years.  More than 6,300 Clearfield County residents benefited from food pantry services in the past year.

In 2013, CPCA served more than 15,900 unduplicated individuals through its vast array of services. CPCA’s primary services include housing services, weatherization, rental housing, case management, food services, heating and utility assistance, employment assistance and training, consumer information and referral and transportation services.

The CPCA’s mission is “strengthening our communities by helping families and individuals in Centre and Clearfield counties to become self-sufficient.” For more information on CPCA programs, please call the CPCA at 814-765-1551 or 800-822-2610.
