Penn State Altoona to Present Eurydice

ALTOONA – Penn State Altoona’s spring production Eurydice will take place April 4 – 6 in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Performances will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with matinées Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 regular admission. Ages 12 and under are free.

Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the Underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love.  With contemporary characters, the classic myth of Orpheus is brilliantly retold through the eyes of its heroine.  Eurydice is a fresh look at a timeless love story.

Instructor in Theatre Arts Bryce Britton is directing.  Eurydice features a magical set designed by Instructor in Theatre Arts Carlos Ruiz, costumes designed by Julie Piotti and a haunting original score composed by Penn State Altoona junior Taylor Swick.  Guest Lighting Desinger Scott Olinger joins the crew from Cornell College.

The Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts is open 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Thursday and before and during all performances.  For further information, call 814-949-5452 or visit the Web site at www.altoona.psu.edu.
