William L. Morgan, 82 of Clearfield died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Ridgeview Elder Care, Curwensville. He was the husband of 42 years to Bonnie K. (Duckett) Morgan of Clearfield, whom he married on April 29, 1972.

Born June 24, 1931 in Curwensville, he was the son of the late John and Hilda (Smith) Morgan.

Mr. Morgan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He was employed at the County National Bank and retired as vice president and manager in 1993 after 44 years.

Mr. Morgan was a member of the Grace United Presbyterian Church, Glen Richey. He was the first president and a member of the Clearfield Jaycee’s, the Central Mountain Automobile Club and the Fletcher Camp.

He enjoyed antique cars, hunting, fishing, collecting antiques and making appraisals on antiques and cars.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Andréa K. Sheeder and her husband, Scott and son, Preston and daughter, Alana of Hyde; Deanna L. Morgan and her companion, Brian Godissart and daughter, Brianna of Clearfield; two sisters, Mina Jean Washek and her husband, Richard and Carol O. Peterson and her husband, Carl J. of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J. Thomas Morgan.

A service to celebrate the life of William L. Morgan will be held at 11 a.m. at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, with Pastor Leanne M. Gill Peters and Pastor Wayne Lutz co-officiating.

A time share memories with the family will be held from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Military honors will be provided by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
