Louis Dale Bricen, 89, formerly of Weedville, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Oct. 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Bricen and Agnes (Gardner) Bricen.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy.
On Dec. 21, 1947 in New York City, he married Velma Marie (Burke) Bricen. She survives.
He was the owner of both Louie’s Plumbing and Heating and Louie’s Exxon in Weedville. He also worked for Corbett Cabinet Company.
Mr. Bricen was a member of the American Legion Post 978 in Weedville.
He is survived by his children, Luann Pisani and her husband, Louie of St. Marys and Nancy Rosman and her husband, Mark, Thomas Bricen and his wife, Susan and John Bricen and his wife, Rebecca, all of Weedville; a sister, Vernice Paolella of Philadelphia; and a brother, Dan Bricen of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Cornealius “Jack” Bricen and two sisters, June Snyder and Jean Lander.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Thomas Tyler officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the Bennetts Valley Honor Guard Post 978.
Burial will be in Gardner Hill Cemetery.
