Mildred S. Hanson, 91, of Clearfield died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born Aug. 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles Burton Sr. and Ruth Avanel (Rowles) Thomas.
Mrs. Hanson was employed by the Riverside Bakery, Longs Dairy Store, Clearfield True Value and contracted with the Intermediate Unit, all of Clearfield.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, as she was an avid baker and cook. She also enjoyed working with ceramics and was an active member and volunteer at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by two children, John Hanson and Shirley Bezilla, both of Clearfield; two grandsons, Michael Bowers and his wife, Natalie of California and Mark Bowers and his companion, Rae Kares of North Carolina; and two great-grandchildren, Ally and Parker Bowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen M. Thomas and two brothers, C. Burton Jr. and Robert A. Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Robert J. Way and the Rev. Susan J. Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1545, Clearfield.
