Jeffrey S. Leigey, 54, of Clearfield died Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1960, a son of the late Elwood and Delores (Dixon) Leigey.
Mr. Leigey was most recently employed at B&C Contracting, Clearfield. He had also worked at Vince Centra Trucking, Curwensville, and at Driggs in Maryland.
He was affiliated with Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, Clearfield. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812, Clearfield.
He’s survived by his wife, Kathy (Gearhart) Leigey, whom he wed Jan. 13, 1978; three children, Kristi Lawhead and her husband, Pascal, Brian Leigey and his fiancé, Summer Haag and Tabatha Lewis and her husband, James Jr., all of Clearfield.
He’s also survived by five grandchildren, Alexis Lawhead, Riley Lewis, Savannah Lewis, Parker Leigey and Elijah Haag; two sisters, Mary Luzier of DuBois and Irene Forrest and her husband, Thomas of Clearfield; two brothers, Elwood Leigey Jr. and his wife, Kathy of West Decatur and Richard ‘Dick’ Leigey and his wife, Sherrill of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Glenn and Kathryn Gearhart; his sister, Linda Johnson; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Gearhart.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
