PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police would like to remind motorists that they are required to pass in a lane not adjacent to an emergency response area when possible.
If passing in a non-adjacent lane is impossible, illegal or unsafe, motorists should pass the emergency response area at a careful and prudent reduced speed. Their speed must be reasonable for safely passing the emergency response area.
In addition, state police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and homes. This, state police said, can prevent residents from becoming victims of theft.
With colder weather, motorists need to be aware of possible slippery roadway conditions, especially in the higher elevations.
