Donald Edward “Pappy” Bunnell, 78, of Curwensville died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1935 in Pike Township, he was the son of Harry J. and Hazel E. (Shaffer) Bunnell. Mr. Bunnell was retired for the former Howe’s Leather Company in Curwensville. He was Roman Catholic by faith.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. No. 268 and the Janesville VFW.
Surviving are five children, Donnie Bunnell and his companion, Tracey Kephart and Tom Bunnell and his wife, Lori, both of Madera; Ron Bunnell and his wife, Debra, Lynn M. Bunnell and his companion, Robin Rauch and David Bunnell, all of the Clearfield area; and Jack Bunnell of Georgia.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jayden, Curtis, Nicholas, Jack, Alyissa and Christopher Bunnell, Bianca Carella and Cameo Evans; a sister, Sally Withey of Shiloh; and a brother, Joseph “Buck” Bunnell and his wife, Mae Louise of Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren, Alan Joseph Bunnell, Brittney Marie Rauch and Shawn “Bubba” Kephart.
Funeral services for Mr. Bunnell will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Fr. Mark J. Mastrian officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and again from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
