Mahaffey Fire Ruled Accidental

MAHAFFEY – A fire damaged a residence at 6:40 a.m. Friday at 667 Bethlehem Rd. in Mahaffey. The fire has been ruled accidental in nature, reported the state police at Ridgway.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Mahaffey Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a wooden-framed, single-story residence.

The residence belonged to Shae R. Harkleroad and Loren M. Heinz of Mahaffey. Heinz was at home at the time of the fire and discovered flames in the basement area, state police said.

Heinz, state police said, escaped without injury. Damage has been estimated at $75,000.
