Accident cleared from earlier closure; speed reductions in effect
CLEARFIELD – PennDOT advises drivers that two sections of Interstate 80 are closed in PennDOT District 2 at this hour due to accidents.
The closures are as follows:
- I-80 eastbound is closed in Clearfield County between Exit 111(Clearfield/Penfield) and Exit 120 (Clearfield/Shawville). The Blue Detour is in effect, which will take motorists off of I-80 at Exit 111 then onto Route 153 south/Route 322 east, to Route 879 east and back to I-80 at Exit 120. PennDOT expects to open this section of I-80 by 1 p.m.
- I-80 eastbound is closed between Exit 158 (Milesburg) in Centre County and Exit 178 (Lock Haven) in Clinton County. The Brown Detour is in effect, which will take motorists off of I-80 at Exit 158, north on Route 150, south on Mill Hall Road, south on Route 220 and back to I-80 at Exit 178. PennDOT expects to open this section of I-80 by 2 p.m.
An earlier closure on I-80 westbound in Centre and Clinton counties has been cleared and the section is open to traffic.
PennDOT reminds drivers that a speed reduction is in place on several roadways in PennDOT District 2 including:
- I-80 in Clearfield, Centre, and Clinton counties
- I-99 in Centre County
- Route 22/322 in Mifflin and Juniata counties
Motorists will be alerted to the incident through the use of the Highway Advisory Radio System and Dynamic Message System signs.
