CLARION – The Curwensville Golden Tide wrestling team remained winless on the 2013-14 season, losing Tuesday evening to Clarion, 58-18, on the Bobcats’ home wrestling surface.
The win evens the Bobcats record to 5-5 while the Tide fall to 0-14.
Curwensville got pins from Jake Lancaster at 138 pounds, Jake C. Stiles at 170 and Ben Junod at 182.
Stiles pinned Austin Holz of the Bobcats in the first period, at 1:47, while Junod followed with a fall in 4:45 over Will Staub.
Those back to back pins had the score tied at 12-12 before Clarion tallied 40 unanswered points to surge ahead 52-12.
Lancaster picked up the final team points for Curwensville with his fall over Prince Brooks in 3:26.
The junior high match was won by Clarion. No official score was available.
The Tide close out the dual meet season with a home match against Oswayo Valley on Thursday night. Junior high action starts at 6 pm in Patton Hall, with the varsity match to immediately follow.
