Philipsburg Man Accused of Assaulting and Threatening Woman

RUSH TOWNSHIP – A 61-year-old Philipsburg man has been accused of assaulting and threatening a woman after an incident that occurred Sunday at a Pike Lane residence in Rush Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg.

During the alleged incident, a Philipsburg man threw a bucket at the victim, which struck her in the legs. He then stood over the seated victim and threatened to strike her with a block of wood, state police said.

The victim escaped into a bedroom and locked the door. However, the man allegedly gained entry and held a knife to the victim’s neck. The man allegedly proceeded to throw the victim onto a bed and struck her in the head with a closed fist, state police said.

The victim fled the residence and contacted state police. The man was taken into custody and placed in the Centre County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
