Obituary Notice: Roy A. Plunkett Jr.

Roy A. Plunkett Jr., 68, of Osceola Mills died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1945, in Freeport, Texas, a son of the late Roy A. and Dorothy Opal (Burnett) Plunkett.

He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War and worked as a diesel mechanic and pipe fitter.   He was a former part owner of the Musket Cafe in Ramey.

On Aug. 22, 1992 in Janesville, he married Linda L. (Ventura) Plunkett, who survives of Osceola Mills.

He’s survived by his children, Teri Plunkett Stephens (Kevin) and Roy “Bubba” Plunkett (Tammy), both of Kennewick, Wash.; Robin Plunkett McIntyre of Sandy Point, Idaho; Gary Plunkett (Tonya) of Newman Lake, Wash.; and Marissa Ralston (Bernie) of Sanborn.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dana Jean Harper (Kenneth) and Mary Carol Dunahoe; an aunt, Jeri “Aunt Baby” Mullins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marla Jo Plunkett; a brother-in-law, Wayne Dunahoe; and a nephew, Ronnie Harper.

Mr. Plunkett was Christian by faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, old time Rock ‘N Roll, western movies, leather working, attending auctions and collecting knives.

As per his request, there will be no visitation. The Osceola Mills Honor Guard will provide military honors at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Sanborn Church of God, 4665 Sanborn Rd., in Houtzdale. Family and friends are welcome to attend the service.
