AMESVILLE – The Curwensville Golden Tide wrestling team wrestled much better Friday night against Moshannon Valley on the Black Knights home mat after the beating they took on Thursday against Punxsutawney, 64-9.
Although the Tide won five of the ten bouts that were actually wrestled they still ended up on the short end of the final score, losing 43-27.
The Tide got a pin from Ben Junod at 195: a technical fall from Sam Bressler at 126 pounds; a major decision from Jake Lancaster at 138 and decisions from Hunter Lancaster (152) and Jake C. Stiles (170).
The match was actually tied at 27-27 before Moshannon Valley scored 16 points over the final three bouts to pick up their 11th win against five losses.
The junior high match was won by Moshannon Valley. No official score was available.
Curwensville (0-13) will travel to Clarion on Tuesday for a make-up match with the Bobcats. Please note the early start time for this match will be 5 pm for junior high wrestling, which will be followed immediately by the varsity bout.
