Betty L. Kephart, 92, of (Gearhartville) Philipsburg and formerly of (New Castle) Osceola Mills died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Blair and Phoebe (Litten) Carr Moore born Feb. 25, 1921 in West Decatur. She was married to Clarence C. Kephart, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1979.
Mrs. Kephart was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Sanborn Grange and the Christian Women of Philipsburg. She retired from the former Quaker Market in Philipsburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Kephart; two grandsons, Blair Kephart and Scott Kephart; two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Kephart and Bonita Kephart; and a son-in-law, Jack Acey.
Mrs. Kephart is survived by a daughter, Leaetta “Doll” Acey of Brisbin; two sons, Blair O. “Sonny” Kephart of Niagara Falls, NY and Carl Kephart and his wife, Carol of (Gearhartville) Philipsburg; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Joe Muir officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 12:30 until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
