Housing and Land Development Conference Set for Feb. 19 -20

UNIVERSITY PARK  – Penn State will host the 2014 Pennsylvania Housing and Land Development Conference Feb. 19- 20 at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

On Feb. 19, it will begin with an opening plenary session by Brad Oberg, partner and chief technology officer for IBACOS, a Pittsburgh-based housing innovation firm. The day includes sessions on design and innovation, construction and building codes, and concludes with tours of the MorningStar Solar Home and the Pennsylvania Housing and Research Center’s (PHRC) laboratories and facilities.

The second day focuses on land development and kicks off with a keynote by economist Elliot Eisenberg on the impact of government regulation. Sessions will focus on the land development process and stormwater management. The day will also offer training programs in building science, and detailed residential energy plan reviews and inspections

Running concurrently with the PHRC Housing and Land Development Conference will be the Residential Building Design and Construction Conference. Information and registration for both conferences can be found at www.engr.psu.edu/phrc.

The conference is sponsored by the PHRC, the Pennsylvania Builders Association, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Construction Codes Academy, Pennsylvania Association of Building Code Officials and the Builders Association of Central Pennsylvania.
