LHU’s Teacher Education Assessment Committee Works with School Districts

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven University’s Teacher Education Assessment Committee (TEAC) met Jan. 30 in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center on the LHU main campus.

The partnership with area pre-kindergarten through 12th grade (PK-12) public school teachers and administrators is already in place; however, annual review is done to review assessment results and processes at LHU’s teacher education program.

While typically 10-12 members attend these TEAC meetings held three to four times each academic year, 26 teachers, administrators and LHU teacher education coordinators attended this special event, including new committee members. PK-12 public school partners included individuals from school districts in the local Keystone Central and Jersey Shore school districts, as well as those from Williamsport, Montoursville, Milton, and Bald Eagle Area schools.

The intent of TEAC is to improve teacher preparation at LHU by using the collective expertise of LHU coordinators and PK-public school partners who analyze recent learning assessment results of teacher education program students. It is also intended to recommend ways to improve the preparation of teachers at LHU.

For more information, or to inquire about working with TEAC in the future, please contact Brett Everhart, Director of the Teacher Education Office, at 570-484-2956.
