JOHNSONBURG – For the second straight night, on the road, the Curwensville Lady Tide girls basketball team came up with a victory.
On Friday night the Lady Tide journeyed to Johnsonburg; and gained some revenge, beating the Lady Rams, 51-42.
The Lady Tide lost to the Lady Rams in the first meeting of the two squads, 47-43, on January 17 in Curwensville.
Taking charge right from the start the Lady Tide jumped out to a 14-3 lead after one quarter that set the tone for the final three frames.
The win now has Curwensville at 11-6 on the season and the Lady Rams at 4-14.
Curwensville had three girls in double figures with Tierra Shope scoring 13 points while Kealy Wassil and Ciara Strickland each had 12.
Lady Ram Chelsea Benson lead all scorers with a game high 20 tallies.
The Lady Rams came out on top in the junior varsity game, beating the Lady Tide 38-24. High scorer for Curwensville was Kayli Sedgwick with 10 points.
The Lady Tide are at home on Monday night when they host the Lady Vikings of Glendale with a 6 pm junior varsity tip off. The varsity game will follow immediately after.
Curwensville won the first game against the Lady Vikings on January 20 at Glendale, 57-39.
