CURWENSVILLE – In a score very similar to the first game they played, Brockway defeated the Curwensville girls Friday night at Curwensville, 46-37.
The Lady Tide knocked off the Lady Rovers 46-35 in Brockway in early December.
Curwensville matched Brockway basket for basket in the first 16 minutes to trail by just two at the break, 22-20.
The third quarter found the Lady Tide as cold as outside, scoring only six points and falling behind after three frames 38-26.
Curwensville head coach Rusty McCracken said after the game, “We just went really cold in the third quarter. Just couldn’t put the ball in the basket and that basically cost us the game.”
Junior Ciara Strickland had 12 points while freshman Hannah Dixon scored 11 in the loss for Curwensville.
The Lady Rovers had Taylor Cappetta leading the way with 14, while Ashley Moore chipped in with eight.
In the JV game it was the Lady Rovers winning over the Lady Tide by a score of 35-22. Katie Evans led the Tide with six tallies.
Curwensville (9-5) is home again on Monday evening when they host DuBois Central Catholic, a team that the Lady Tide lost to on January 3, 55-34, in DuBois.
