WOODLAND – With another extreme cold front approaching, the Animal Welfare Council is again urging pet owners to bring animals indoors during this frigid weather.
Pets left outside are at risk of hypothermia, frost bite and death. If you are unable to bring your pet inside, the AWC has a large supply of additional straw available and some sturdy insulated dog houses to support outdoor pets that have inadequate shelter.
Anyone wanting to sponsor a dog house, volunteer to build them or make donations to purchase straw and support these efforts to help local animals are asked to contact the AWC. The AWC/Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic is located at 1380 Shawville Hwy. in Woodland (beside the Woodland Post Office).
For more information about obtaining straw and or dog houses or to make a donation, please call 814-857-5282.
